MULTI-DISCIPLINARY ARTIST

Anoushka Anand (b.1997, NOIDA, India) is a contemporary artist from India, specialising in painting, installation, sculpture and video. She completed her BSc Psychology from University of Bristol (2019) and completed her Graduate Diploma in Fine Art at the Royal College of Art (2023). A self-taught artist, her creative practice explores the experience of navigating her mind and its influence on her perception. She depicts the ever-changing fluid, abstract plane of her mind through exploration underwater in performance based video projects, painting and sculpture. Her work is inspired by the relationship of the tangible and spiritual body; the work of Dr Joe Dispenza in understanding the relationship of the human body with the quantum field , Evolutionary Psychology along with teachings of Hinduism and Vedic spirituality inform her practice.

At the heart of my artistic practice lies the idea of introspection, the journey of conscious reflection that leads to the expansion of human consciousness.

As an interdisciplinary artist, my creative practice encompasses a range of mediums, including painting, installation, and video. Drawing on the rich tapestry of human experience, I seek inspiration from diverse fields, including Jungian and Freudian psychology, spirituality, Vedic Hindu teachings, and quantum physics. Guided by the works of renowned artists such as Julie Gautier and Alex Grey I strive to develop my own unique aesthetic and conceptual language.

I see my work as a metaphor for the unconscious mind, a vast and mysterious realm that holds the key to the human psyche's hidden depths. My work is an exploration of the interconnectedness between the inner and outer worlds, inviting the viewer on a journey of self-discovery and a deeper connection with the self.

My practice as an interdisciplinary artist is driven by a deep curiosity about the human psyche and the ways in which we can better understand and develop our consciousness. I seek to create art that is both visually captivating and conceptually rich. Through my work, I hope to inspire others to embark on their own journey of self-discovery and to deepen their connection with themselves.
