Inspired by Julie Gautier's collaborative performance piece with Behind the Mask, Narcisse, the element of performance and the tactility of the water depicting release in her work resulted in my use of the same. I wanted to take the multiple different textures of the water as a juxtaposition to the waves and changes in the mind. Water is the one place that I feel like I account for every moment that I exist within it. It brings me closer to my most authentic emotion. This is why I wanted to film underwater; to be able to depict the ongoings of the abstract plane of my mind through the states of the water.
